Writing Contest

Dear Writers,

The Writer’s Magaazine is having a writing contes they have a new travel essay contest going on now, and the topic brings to mind the great opportunities you have to learn about different people and places when you travel–opportunities that can reframe your perspective on the world. We’re interested in finding out what you learned and how it affected you.

But travel can be more than a mind-broadening experience — it can lead to some very humorous moments, particularly if the trip involves family travel. Travel “disasters” that don’t seem funny at the time often transform into favorite travel stories. You’re welcome to share those types of travel stories with us, too. As humorist Dave Barry once wrote: “That’s the wonderful thing about family travel: It provides you with experiences that will remain locked forever in the scar tissue of your mind.”

Do you have a funny family travel story locked in your mind? If so, we’d love to hear it! You still have a little more than three weeks to meet the June 15 contest deadline.
